Dear parents,
We would like to say a big welcome to all our new parents and children, and welcome back to all our existing parents and children. We hope that everyone had a wonderful summer.
Clothing
As we run the school in line with the Foundation Phase Curriculum we offer the children the opportunity to play outside in all weather. As the weather starts to change could you please ensure that your child comes into school with the appropriate clothing such as wellies, raincoats, hats and gloves. Please could you ensure that all of their belongings are labelled to avoid any confusion and worry. Thank you.
Topics
This term during the first 2 weeks and to help during the settling in period our topic will be ‘This is me’. We will be talking about what we look like and our bodies. The rest of the term is as follows:-

Week 6 Growing up, big and strong (if possible can we have a baby photo of your child sent in please)

Please feel free to send your child into school with anything you think would enhance our topic. We do encourage the children to join in at circle time and to talk about their interests and experiences. Therefore we are more than happy if they would like to bring in something for show and tell.
Nature box
During the term we will be putting together a nature box for the children to look at and enjoy. If you have anything ‘natural’ we can use in the box can you please let us know.
Nut-free
Could we please remind all parents and carers that we are a nut free setting which runs in line with Magor CIW School.
Dates
Please be advised that Magor CIW School will be closed for an inset day on Monday 22nd September. However Stepping Stones will be open as normal. Please note that if your child attends Magor nursery that the nursery will also be closed so there will be no pick up or drop off on these days. Can you please let us know if they will still be attending stepping stones on these days. If it would be of any help for your child to attend all day with us then please come and speak to us.
Half term Monday 27th – Friday 31st October.

School re-opens on Tuesday 4th November 2014
Holiday Club
Magor school currently runs a holiday club, which opens on training days and during half term breaks. They cater for children from the age of 4+. If you would be interested or would like further information you can contact Mrs Abigail Garrett at Magor School.
